Recently, Saint Lucia’s Citizenship by Investment Unit, CIU, announced that the processing of Iranian applicants has resumed.
As MC Claude Emmanuel, the CIU’s Chief Executive, revealed in an interview with IMIDaily the problem with the Iranian clients in the last few years was the lack of St.
Lucia’s due diligence providers in the country in order to verify the client’s documents at the related agencies and run the requisite background check on them.
However, right now the due diligence partners of St.
Lucia CIU assure their presence and access in Iran.
By lifting the ban on Iranian citizens, only two nationalities of Russians and Belarusians remain are still not eligible to apply for St.
Lucia’s CBI program.
