Timeline

After retaining MICS, our team will conduct an initial assessment of the applicant’s profile and supporting information to confirm eligibility for the Malta Citizenship by Merit Program. Once the preliminary review is completed, the Professional Services Agreement will be executed. MICS will then provide a detailed checklist of the required civil, financial and supporting documents, while assisting the applicant with the preparation of the residence application. The qualifying residential property will also be secured in preparation for the residence application.

MICS will complete the preparation and review of the residence application and submit it to the Community Malta Agency. The application will then undergo the government’s review and clearance process. During this stage, additional information or documentation may be requested if required.

Upon approval of the residence application, the applicant will be invited to complete the biometric enrolment process in Malta. Following the completion of the required procedures, the Maltese residence cards will be issued, allowing the applicant to proceed with the citizenship process.

MICS will prepare the Citizenship by Merit proposal together with all supporting documentation demonstrating the applicant’s eligibility and exceptional contribution. Following any preliminary feedback from the authorities, the proposal will be finalized and submitted to the Community Malta Agency for formal assessment.

The Community Malta Agency will assess the Citizenship by Merit proposal. During this period, MICS will coordinate with the authorities and respond to any requests for additional information or supporting documentation to facilitate the assessment process.

Upon receiving a positive decision on the merit proposal, the applicant will complete the required exceptional contribution and philanthropic donation in accordance with the program requirements. MICS will then prepare and submit the formal citizenship application together with all supporting documentation, including evidence of residence and compliance with the program requirements.

The Community Malta Agency will process the citizenship application and conduct its final review. Processing times may vary depending on the complexity of the application and any additional due diligence requirements.

Upon approval of the citizenship application, MICS will coordinate the Oath of Allegiance appointment in Malta. Following the successful completion of the oath, the applicant will be granted Maltese citizenship, and the Certificates of Naturalization will be issued.
